At Imago Christian School, our curriculum is dynamic, multi-sensory, and project-based. We blend academic rigor with a therapeutic model, maintaining low student-to-teacher ratios to ensure close partnerships with every family. We view each child through a classical Christian worldview as an image-bearer of God, utilizing an individualized approach that meets them where they are rather than strictly adhering to chronological age.
Our program is structured around three primary tracks. These are not rigid silos but intentional pathways designed to maximize each student's potential for mastery and independence.
Three Pillars of Instruction
The Functional & Vocational Track
Therapeutic Readiness & Maximum Independence
For students with significant developmental or intellectual disabilities where standard academic work is not feasible. Shifting priority from textbooks to life-preparedness and functional communication.
- Functional Academics: Practical literacy, safety, and money skills.
- Daily Living: Hygiene, self-sufficiency, and self-advocacy.
- Vocational Prep: Task completion, multi-step directions, and emotional regulation (Grades 1–8).
Directly aligns classroom goals with on-site Speech, OT, and Behavioral therapy to provide holistic support.
The Modified Academic Track
Academic Progress at the Learner’s Pacing
For students capable of standard core subjects (Reading, Math, Science, History) who require curriculum modifications tailored to their specific instructional level rather than age.
- Individualized Pacing: Meets gaps without frustration (e.g., 5th grader reading at a 2nd-grade level).
- Multi-Sensory Methods: Orton-Gillingham literacy and hands-on math tools instead of lectures.
- Mastery over Compliance: Building self-confidence through steady, measurable progress.
Instructional modifications are backed by regulatory support to keep learning low-stress and engaging.
The Accommodated Standard Track
Grade-Level Rigor in a Sensory-Friendly Space
For cognitively capable or gifted (twice-exceptional) students whose academic potential is masked or hindered by anxiety, ADHD, autism, or large, rigid school environments.
- Standard Curriculum: Rigorous grade-level academics with essential accommodations.
- Environment as Intervention: Low-sensory stimulation, flexible seating, and small class sizes.
- Targeted Support: Extended time, chunking assignments, movement breaks, and verbal testing.
Integrates social pragmatics coaching and emotional regulation directly into the academic school day.
